Public Access Telehealth Spaces
(PATHS)
Telehealth Booths Now Available!
Background:
Public Access Telehealth Spaces (PATHS), a project of the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND), an academic unit in the University of Wyoming College of Health Sciences, in collaboration with Dr. Amanda DeDiego, Associate Professor of Counseling in the College of Education, is proud to announce the opening of its state-of-the-art Telehealth Booth in three counties across the state of Wyoming, revolutionizing the way individuals access healthcare services. The cutting-edge booths, located in Goshen County, Park County and Natrona County, will provide convenient and secure telehealth consultations, making quality healthcare more accessible than ever.
The Public Access Telehealth Spaces (PATHS) initiative has been developed to explore ways to make healthcare more accessible and address stigma in seeking care. PATHS is about creating connections between providers and communities to integrate and coordinate telehealth, addressing issues of equity and access to services and supports. Rural and frontier areas of the state are some of the hardest places to deliver consistent access to specialized and mental healthcare
In partnership with Wyoming Public libraries, PATHS creates publicly accessible, ADA-compliant, and secure telehealth booths using existing library infrastructure. The PATHS booths offer Wyoming citizens a private space with reliable internet and necessary technology to be able to connect with provider appointments from the public library.
